Foreign nationals who have recently arrived Japan 

 Make Moving-in Notification at the city/ward/town/village office in your residence within 14 days after you move in. Do not forget to submit your resident card issued at the airport upon entering Japan.

Things need to be prepared
  • Notification of Residence move and other information change
    (You can obtain it at the window.)
  • Resident Card
    (When your Resident card will be issued later, then your passport)
  • Official document certifying the relationship between the self and the head of household, and its Japanese translation.(In case that the head of household is a foreign resident)

Foreign nationals moving in from outside of the city (Move-in)

When you move into Fukui city; Receive Moving-out Certificate issued at the city/ward/town/village office in your previous residence and make a notification of address change at window number 5, Citizen's Affairs Division in Fukui City Hall within 14 days after you move into Fukui city.

Things need to be prepared
  • Notification of Residence move and other information change
    (You can obtain it at the window.)
  • Resident card or Certificate of special permanent resident
  • Official document certifying the relationship between the self and the head of household, and its Japanese translation.(In case that the head of household is a foreign resident)
  • Moving-out Certificate

Joining JICHIKAI (Residents’ Association)

JICHIKAI (Residents’ Association) is an association for local residents to enhance communication and to solve various problems in the community by co-operating each other. It has following activities.

  1. Sports and Recreational activities
  2. Mutual cooperation in case of calamities
  3. Managing garbage stations
  4. Children’s club, Children & Parents’ gathering
  5. Cleaning up the streets and cleaning away the snow in your neighborhood

Fukui Municipal Office distributes various information bulletins including “SHISEI KOHO”
(Public Relations Magazine) through JICHIKAI. So, please join JICHIKAI in your local
community. Inquire about how to join JICHIKAI to the following section in charge.

Foreign residents moving inside of the city (Change of address)

When you change your address in Fukui city, make a notification of new address within 14 days after you move at window number 5 of Citizen's Affairs Division, Fukui City Hall.

When you move out from Fukui city; Make a notification of move-out at window number 5, Citizen's Affairs Division in Fukui City Hall and get Moving-out Certificate issued

Procedures for moving out from Fukui・leaving Japan

 

How to apply for a copy of Resident Certificate for foreign residents.

As substitute for "Certification of information recorded on foreign resident registration", we will issue a copy of Resident Certificate as we do for Japanese residents.Only the self and his/her household members can apply for a copy of Resident Certificate. When a proxy (not the person who needs his/her own certificate nor the household members) applies for a certificate, Notification of Election of Agent or Letter of attorney with an autograph and seal of the person who needs the certificate are required.

Things need to be prepared

<When the person who needs a certificate or his/her household members apply for;>

  • Personal seal (If the person has)
  • Document identifying the self (Resident card or Driver's license)
  • Fee: \300

<When a proxy applies for;>

  • Personal seal of the person who needs his/her own Resident Certificate  (If the person has)
  • Notification of Election of Agent or Letter of Attorney(When the person who applies for his/her own Resident Certificate does not have his/her personal seal, be sure to attach his/her copy of Resident card or state the number of his/her Resident card.)
  • A proxy’s identification (Resident card or Driver's license)
