Daianzenji Temple

Daianzenji TempleBuilt in 1659, Daianzenji Temple is the family temple of Fukui''s feudal lords. A number of preserved valuable artifacts and cultural assets are in this temple. Daianzenji Temple Within the temple grounds is the grave of Mitsumichi Matsudaira, which is covered by 1360 slates of shakudani stone, which is sometimes referred to as Senjojiki. To the north side of the temple there are many irises and hydrangeas which bloome in the summer making the surroundings quite beautiful.

 

 

 

 

Interesting Stories from the Head Priest

At Daianzenji Temple you can try Zazen as well as offer prayers to the Buddha. You can also listen to many interesting stories told by the head priest. He teaches about Zen in a very interesting and humorous way. (Reservation and admission fee are necessary)
